About

The Nanomaterials and Systems Laboratory (http://nano.jejunu.ac.kr/) within the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at Jeju National University, located on Jeju Island, South Korea, is seeking highly motivated and dedicated candidates to join our research team. Successful candidates will engage in various research activities focused on energy conversion and storage devices (Al electrochemical energy systems, Seawater electrolysis, green hydrogen production, green catalysis, next-gen battery systems) under the supervision of Prof. Sang-Jae Kim.

Selected candidates will start their fully funded Ph.D. program in March 2025.

Requirements

- A master's degree in physics, chemistry, Mechatronics, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Nanoscience, Nanotechnology, or a related field.

- Only candidates who have received their official master's degree certificates are eligible to apply (provisional certificates are not accepted).

- Excellent academic performance and one or two prior publications in international journals are prioritized.
Strong IELTS/TOEFL scores are recommended, though not mandatory.

- Candidates should be highly motivated for independent research and capable of collaborating effectively with both internal and external research groups.
